Position Purpose: Supervise crews to thin, prune and pick stone fruit (peaches, plums and nectarines).  Recruits crew members and follows safety rules. Complies with labor laws for hiring, non-discrimination and no harassment.   

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Thin, Prune and Pick stone fruit (peaches, plums and nectarines).
  • Recruits Field laborers to work on the crew.
  • Keep accurate record of employee hours, blocks worked and ranches on timesheets using Pet Tiger (Company provides Internet device).
  • Follows California Labor law in recruiting/hiring employees, non-discrimination and non-harassment practices.
  • Follows Company policies regarding no hiring of minors, no transporting of employees, etc.
  • Verifies prior experience in field labor, particularly in stone fruit industry.
  • Works closely with the Field Department to hire and train new employees.
  • Travels to local ranches in the Reedley, California area for perform work.
  • Attends training on regulations and develops compliance programs.

 

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to cold and hot temperatures which consists of outdoor work.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bilingual a plus (Spanish/English).
  • Prior experience as a crew boss and recruiting field workers to be on the crew.
  • Ability to work well in a team-based environment with limited supervision.
  • Ability to produce results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid CA Driver License.
  • Clean DMV record.
